Recruiter program terms

These terms cover the Unfortunately Co. recruiter program (our affiliate program). By joining, you agree to them along with our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Who can join

Anyone 18 or older with an Unfortunately Co. account. We may decline or pause any recruiter at our discretion, for example for the conduct listed below.

Codes, links and discounts

You get one personal code and link. Shoppers who use it get 10% off their order. Codes cannot be combined with other discounts at checkout.

Commission

  • You earn 15% of the order subtotal after discounts, not including shipping or tax.
  • An order counts when it is paid with your code or through your link. Orders placed by you, or shipped to you, do not earn commission.
  • Commission unlocks 30 days after the order. If the order is refunded, the commission is reduced or canceled to match.

Payouts

We pay unlocked commission by PayPal in the first week of each month once your unlocked balance is at least $25. Smaller balances roll over. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings. If you earn $600 or more in a calendar year, we may ask for tax information (such as a W9 form for US recruiters) before paying.

Not allowed

  • Paid search or social ads using our brand name, or ads that pretend to be us.
  • Posting your code on coupon or deal sites, spam, or messages to people who did not ask for them.
  • Misleading claims about our products, prices or shipping times.
  • Self purchases, fake orders, or anything else meant to game commissions.

Breaking these rules can mean losing unpaid commission and removal from the program.

Disclosure

When you share your code, make it clear you earn a commission, for example with #ad or “I earn a commission from this link,” as required by the FTC and most platforms.

Changes

We may change commission rates or these terms with notice by email. Changes do not affect commission already earned. You can leave at any time by emailing hello@unfortunatelyco.com.
