Worst Rejection Contest: official rules

1. Sponsor

2. Eligibility
Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 or older when they enter. Employees of Sponsor and their immediate families are not eligible. Void where prohibited.
3. Entry period
The contest starts October 11, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET and ends October 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Entries received after the end time are not accepted.
4. How to enter
Submit the entry form at unfortunatelyco.com/contest with a job rejection message you personally received (or a short description of it), up to 600 characters. Remove names of people and companies and any personal information. Limit 5 entries per person and per email address. Entries generated by automated means are void.
5. Entry requirements
Entries must be your own, truthful and not defamatory, obscene or infringing. Sponsor may disqualify any entry at its discretion, and may lightly edit an entry for length, privacy or clarity.
6. Judging
This is a contest of skill, not a game of chance. Sponsor will judge eligible entries on humor (50%) and how relatable they are to job seekers (50%). In a tie, the entry received first wins. Sponsor's decisions are final.
7. Prize
One winner. The winning line will be used on an Unfortunately Co. product sold in the store, and the winner receives one of that product in their size, shipped free within the US. Approximate retail value: $35. With the winner's permission, Sponsor will credit the winner's name or handle on the product page. No cash alternative or substitution, except Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. The winner is responsible for any taxes.
8. Winner notification
The winner will be notified by email by November 7, 2026 and must reply within 7 days with a shipping address, or an alternate winner may be chosen.
9. License to your entry
By entering, you give Sponsor a non exclusive, royalty free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, edit, publish and print your entry in any media, including on products and in marketing, with or without credit. You keep any rights you have in your entry.
10. Privacy
Entry information is used to run the contest and contact the winner. We only add you to our email list if you check the box. See our Privacy Policy.
11. General
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late or incomplete entries or technical problems. Sponsor may cancel or change the contest if it cannot run as planned. This contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, TikTok, Instagram, Meta, X, LinkedIn or Pinterest. Florida law governs these rules.
